Inheritance....What would You do?

You just got word you that have inherited $50,000 from a long least deceased relative. Your parents have given you permission to decide what you wish to do with the inheritance. Your future is in YOUR hands. What would you do with the money? Please elaborate, giving reasons for you decision.

Textbooks versus Technology

We discussed in class that textbooks are an interesting facet of education. They are costly to replace and can be outdated in just a few years. Students can write on them and they can be damaged. Eventually they have to be replaced.

What do you think about the use of electronic devices to replace textbooks? An iPad can easily hold 1,000 books. These books can also be interactive and include video. Do you think electronic devices will replace paper textbooks? Should students be allowed to take them home? What are some of the benefits/drawbacks of using an electronic device? Should it be a laptop or something like an iPad? Comment on any of the above questions or voice your thought. Earbuds for the first 10 responses.

ISAT Tests....What Do You Think....

OK so now that ISAT testing is over let's see if live in school gets back to normal. This week I want to hear your thoughts on standardized testing and it's effect on education. Tell me what you think about the ISAT process and how it affects you, your teacher, and our school district. Your response could be a thought you already had or could be a response to any of the following topics:

1. Talk about the testing process...(Timeline..silence in the halls...anyhthing related to testing)
   
2. What preparation did you go through for the tests...
3. Is/should your teacher be held accountable for the results of your test?
4. Is it fair to be assessed on a single test given once a year?
5. Do some students do better on tests than others?
6. Should testing be at the state level or the federal?
